EN 1090 is not enough
"We hold EN 1090 EXC3" is the most expensive misconception in this industry. EN 1090 covers steel structures as a construction product – for halls, bridges, crane runways. For a vehicle component made of armour steel, DIN 2303 applies: a different rulebook, four manufacturer qualifications (Q1–Q4), certificates issued only by accredited bodies such as GSI/SLV. Qualification realistically takes 9 to 18 months.
