Ensure that delivered armour steel plate matches the order, the certificate and the approval before it goes into production.
- The 3.1 or 3.2 certificate is on hand and matches the order, grade, batch and thickness.
- The batch number on the plate matches the certificate, and any transfer for split plates is documented.
- Thickness is measured, with the understanding that it is a lower limit, not a tolerance band.
- Flatness is checked against EN 10029 type H, bearing in mind that the component requirement is usually significantly tighter.
- The manufacturer's marking does not lie on a future bend line.
- Residual magnetism is measured and the limit value is met, because bought-in plates may have come from the dealer's magnetic crane.
- Surface and primer condition are recorded and any transport damage is documented.
- Storage is dry, with separating layers, and outside magnetic crane zones.
- For Q3 production, the incoming goods inspection is logged.
