Bending Force, Radius and Angle Leverage
Bending force
Bending force
–t
Maximum load is reached at roughly a 120° opening angle (unlubricated). Trial bends are recommended.
Tool geometry from the data sheet
Enter R/t and W/t from the manufacturer's data sheet – no values from this page.
Punch radius
– mm
Die width
– mm
At least t/2 without rolling. Tighter radii are permitted across the rolling direction than along it.
Position deviation from angle tolerance
How strongly an angle deviation acts at the end of a leg.
Position deviation at the leg tip
–mm
Rules of thumb: roughly ±1° for air bending without angle measurement, roughly ±0.5° with an angle-measuring system and press correction.
On a batch change without a new setup trial, the deviation is noticeably larger, in both directions.
