Carbon Equivalent and Preheat

CET, CEV and preheat temperature per EN 1011-2, Method B, from the certificate analysis.

CET, CEV and the preheat temperature per Method B come from generally available standard knowledge on EN 1011-2 (Annex C), not from the reference book, and have not been checked against the standard text.

Order of magnitude from the reference book, no formula

The manuscript gives no CET formula, only order-of-magnitude preheat by plate thickness: for ferritic filler metals (Armox 370T–500T), from room temperature on thin plate up through 50/100/125/150 °C to 175–200 °C at 80–100 mm; for the high-hardness grades (560T, 600T, 620T, Advance), around 100 °C. Rule of thumb from the book: from 440T upward the window runs roughly 100 to 190 °C, narrowing to 100–120 °C for the high-hardness grades.
